Swami Samarth Maharashtra Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (IHM). Nestled in the Vibrant & Cultural city of Solapur, Maharashtra, India. The institute was inaugurated on the 3rd of July 2023 with the auspicious hands of Hon’ble Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Tourism Minister of Maharashtra state along with Principal Secretary Tourism, GOM, Directorate of Tourism, director.
Primarily an objective of the institute is to provide Skill Education Training facilities to the hospitality & tourism sector. There is a growing demand for the hotel and hospitality sector for skilled manpower.
Publicly it is called IHM Solapur and is affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), New Delhi an apex body in India for the promotion and development of hospitality education.
This is the first state-owned IHM institute under the Govt of Maharashtra, Ministry of Tourism, administrated by the Directorate of Tourism. The institute offers a degree and diploma program as per the NCHM curriculum and guidelines, ensuring comprehensive learning and industry-relevant aspects. The institute offers skill development programs affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Skill Vocational Education and Training (MSBSVET) Mumbai.
This institute is dedicated to nurturing talent, fostering skill and education excellence, and promoting the rich hospitality culture that Maharashtra is renowned for. This is a set a state-of-the-art hospitality training institute in Solapur city. All the Laboratories like Kitchens, Restaurants, Housekeeping, and front office have been set as per the norms of NCHM with spacious premises and well-set equipment. We have a team of expert faculties with necessary academic and hotel industry experience, who will contribute to teaching and learning procedures.

Tourism & Hospitality is the vibrant sector in which all the aspirants need to put mind, body, and soul together to serve the people and the industry. It is the people-to-people connection, collaboration, and cultivating the bond of hospitality for everyone and all the stakeholders.
Our focus is to teach and train the skill set necessary to inculcate and nurture the hospitality and tourism aspirants. Our mission is to provide a suitable skill set, knowledge, and hospitality attitude to the students through the teaching-learning pedagogy.

Dr. Sandip S Tapkir
Dr. Sandip S Tapkir is a Ph.D. holder and an experienced principal in the hotel and hospitality education institutes. He possesses 25 years of academic and hospitality tourism and hotel industry. Being a researcher, he has published 15 research papers on hospitality, tourism, sustainability, and human resource topics. Being an author of two books published- Food & Ayurveda, second one is on Responsible Tourism. He has published a couple of book chapters. His core expertise in Food & Beverage service, controls, and HRM, entrepreneurship, and management topics. Contributed towards the awareness and awakening into good tourism and hospitality practices. An expert speaker, and leader in to hospitality domain he has received a couple of awards. Presently he has joined the Swami Samarth Maharashtra Institute of Hotel Management (IHM Solapur) Maharashtra as the Principal. The SSMIHMCT will contribute to growth with the vision and under the leadership of Dr. Tapkir and will be established as a center for excellence in tourism & hospitality training and skill development.

Ms. Neha Khedkar
Ms. Neha Khedkar is a Post Graduate in Hospitality Management and has experience of 7 years in the Hotel industry working with well-known and reputed brands like Four Seasons, Radisson, and Marriott. Apart from industry experience, she has 4 years of academic experience in renowned Hotel Management colleges and currently is pursuing her Ph.D. Degree as well. Her area of experience and expertise both from Industry and Academics is Hotel Housekeeping. Apart from Housekeeping, her area of experience includes English communication and Personality development as well. Presently she is working as a Senior Lecturer in Maharashtra Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology and looking forward to having an excellent experience doing the same.

Ms. Mrunal Mulajkar
Chef. Mrunal Mulajkar is a Hospitality Professional who has completed her graduation from the National Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management Hyderabad (BSc in H & HA), Post Graduated in Marketing & Human resources and has an experience more than 1.5years in the Hotel industry working with IKEA Restaurant Hyderabad, Park Hyatt, Sarovar Group Apart from the industry experience she has 4 years of academic experience in renowned Hotel Management college. she has received couple of awards in Food sector. Completed Hospitality Professional course from American Hospitality Academy. Worked as a cooking competition judge for many food competitions. Her area of experience and expertise both from Industry and Academics is Food Production & Bakery. Apart from Food Production, her area of experience includes Hotel Marketing and Handling Human Resources as well. Presently she is working as an Assistant Lecturer in Maharashtra Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology and contributing in the bright hospitality future of students & looking forward to having an excellent experience.

Mr. Manoj Bhaurao Gedam
Mr. Manoj B Gedam is a hospitality professional. Mr. Manoj has completed his graduation B. Tech (HMCT) from Nagpur University in the year of 2002 and Post graduation from IGNOU in MTTM in the year 2021. He has worked in the city like Mumbai and Nagpur and started his teaching career in Hyderabad city. In total, he has 19+ years of experience of the hotel and teaching field putting together. In his previous assignments, he has taught Front Office Subjects in universities like Osmania University, Bangalore University, and Mumbai University. At present, he has been appointed as Assistant Lecturer in Maharashtra Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Solapur.

Mr. Aadietyaa Vijay Mallwade
Mr.Aadiethyaa Vijay Mallwade is a hospitality professional. He completed his B.Sc.(H&HA) from IHMCT Mumbai in the year of 2017 and his M.Sc.(HA-HR) from IHMCT Bangalore in the year of 2019. He has more than 2 years of experience in the Hospitality industry. He has worked with Marine Plaza, Mumbai in Operational Departments and worked with the Human Resource department in Bangalore with The Chancery & Hotel Royal Orchids, Ltd. He has also worked with Pench Tiger Reserve, Nagpur as an ecotourism Manager’. At present, he is associated with the Maharashtra Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Solapur as Assistant Lecturer.
